Artesian Wells - It's true! You'll want to bring you multi-gallon containers with you when you visit Marquette County, because Marquette County is blessed with some of the purest waters in America.  the flow from our famous artesian wells that are so well-known that parched travelers from near and far make Marquette County their thirst-quenching destination of choice for its clean, ice-cold water.  The water becomes pure first as rain, which falls into the earth and filters down through many subterranean layers, finally making its return journey from far underground to rise to the surface in our county.  It's a site to behold and an experience to enjoy.  Don' miss it!

Biking and Hiking - Marquette County's winding back roads offer nine different routes for both biking and hiking.  View pristine pre-historic ecosystems and wildlife sanctuaries resounding with sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, and songbirds.  Watch hawks, eagles and turkey vultures soar overhead.  Foxes, deer and cranes gather to feed in the meadows and fields.  John Muir County Park and a number of natural areas such as Observatory Hill and Liberty Bluffs also offer additional hiking trails.

Bird Watching - For both the spring and fall migrations, Marquette County is wonderfully located to catch over 268 different species of bird. Along with locations to easily pick up supplies, wetlands for some of the best viewing around and comfortable bed and breakfasts throughout the are, Marquette County is a bird watcher's paradise! Boating - Over 20 of Marquette County's lakes have public boat accesses and most lodging facilities located on the water have boat rentals. Canoe and Kayak trips up and down the Mecan and Fox rivers offer some relaxed boating and beautiful landscapes.

Canoeing - Canoeing Marquette County's waterways is like taking a step back in time.  Our waterways remain today much like they did years before.  Wheather it's a short paddle around a forest-rimmed lake, or a three-day trek along the Fox River route traveled by Jacques Marquette, in 1673.  Our idyllic waterways, are great for canoeing, boating and fishing, they are rich in wildlife and tranquil beauty.  Relax, Refresh and Renew

Fishing  - Marquette County is an angler's paradise.   Whether you want to tease a trout with a tied fly or lure a lunker bass, wall-eye or northern pike, Marquette County offers first class fishing. In addition to these, there are many other species of game fish, including northern pike, large mouth and small bass, perch, catfish, panfish, and trout.  Most species native to Wisconsin can be found in the county's over 60 lakes, five rivers and 15 trout streams.

Golfing - Marquette County boasts two challenging golf courses with an additional 11 courses in the surrounding counties.  The White Lake County Club is an 18 hole, par 72 course adjoining beautiful White Lake.  Located between Montello and Princeton, the course is over 200 acres embeded in a natural setting of rolling hills, woods, spring-fed ponds and the club's free-roaming peacocks.  The golf course features a pro shop, complete rentals, and a practice green,  608-297-2255.  Thal Acres Golf Club is located two miles south of Westfield on County Hwy M.  the 18-hole course features rolling fairways on the front nine, and a challenging back nine with wooded fairways and scenic lakes.  The golf course features a driving range, motor cart and club rentals, and pro shop.  In addition, Thal Acres includes a bowling alley, lounge and banquet facility. 608-296-2850

Hunting - With so much native habitat intact, the county is a sportsman's paradise. Whitetail deer are literally everywhere, wild turkeys, waterfowl is plentiful and small game mammals and upland game birds can be found in good numbers.

Snowmobiling - Over 250 miles of marked and groomed snowmobile trails criss-cross the county. Along side these, Cross-country skiers can enjoy over 15 miles of groomed and tracked trails.
