Marquette County is rich with public lands for hiking, wildlife watching and birding. Close to 7,000 acres of land has been set aside for these activities. Walking trails exist on most public
hunting areas and are great for hiking, wildlife watching and birding. Much of this land is open to multi-use, such as public hunting in the fall, as well as turkey hunting in the spring. There are
also several hiking, biking, and birding areas on public lands that are not open to hunting, such as Muir Park, Observatory Hill, Page Creek and others.
