Fall Colors Hike at the Fox River Refuge. View the spectacular fall colors of this varied landscape. The Fox River Refuge (Co Rd O & Co Rd F in Buffalo Township, 7 miles south of Montello) is normally closed to hikers, so take admvantage of this special opportunity. Cranes should be gathering and fall migration starting. Bring binoculars, water, good walking shoes. Time: 10:00. Meet at the parking lot at John Muir Park. We will walk to the refuge from that area. The hike will be lead by US Fish & Wildlife.

Come and enjoy the sights and smell of Harvest Fest in Downtown Montello. There will be crafters, food and family fun from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Come on out and ejoy or call to set up a booth and be a vendor. 608-450-0600. There is also a concert planned from 3:00pm to midnight with 3 bands in the new parking lot behind the stores on the south side of Montello St.(Hwy 23).

Yes folks, the leaves will be changing and it is high time we Tour the Land of John Muir! By BIKE! We will be meandering through Marquette County, viewing some of the most beautiful scenery in Wisconsin. The boyhood home of John Muir. With so many beautiful trails, stay the weekend and see so much more!
Bring your bike, family and friends, why? Because not only is bike riding fun, but you can enjoy all the beautiful scenery in the Land of John Muir as well as Montello's Harvest Fest.
We have two goals:
1. To raise money for Marquette County Care and Share Food Bank. All proceeds go to the Food Bank. Please think of your registration fee as a donation to a worthy cause.
2. To get the word out about the great natural resources in and around Montello and Marquette County.
Before the ride there will be a FREE pancake breakfast for all riders complete with a baggie of oatmeal cookies for on your trip.
There is also a concert planned for that eveing from 3:00pm to midnight with 3 bands.
Come early and stay late!
